Transferring of in-house and off-site clinic instruments for cleaning and sterilization to the Sterile Processing Department uncovered an invaluable opportunity to educate on instrument management. A cycle of continuous improvement projects began through plan-do-study-act (PDSA) as the clinical areas and SPD worked together to educate and refine processes based on best practices and AAMI guidelines.
