Description

We identified that we needed a better schedule in our sterile processing department for environmental services. The cleanliness of the department is a vital part of any sterile processing department. We recognize that any lapse in our cleaning processes could affect the sterility of our instruments and trays, which then could compromise the safety of our patients. • Cleaning of workflow from sterile, to clean, to dirty • Dedicated mop for clean and dirty • Time of cleaning • Routine areas to clean (daily, weekly and monthly) • Cleaning log • Electronic tracking (AIWX Machine) • Proper PPE and department dress code • Returned case carts to decontam (point of use cleaning) • Communication between sterile processing and environmental service
