Minnesota Governor Signs Bill into Law that Promotes Quality and Patient Safety
Minnesota Governor Tim Walz signed legislation, effective January 1, 2028, requiring new central service (CS) technicians entering the field to become certified and undergo continuing education. These new technicians will have two years from the date of hire to become certified. All CS technicians working in the profession prior to January 1, 2028, will not be required to be certified but will be required to complete 10 hours of continuing education.
