As a passionate advocate for patient safety and dedicated Sterile Processing leader, I am committed to supporting the mission of HSPA by promoting expertise, recognition and collaboration in this critical field. With over a decade of progressive leadership experience in healthcare systems, I bring a wealth of knowledge, certifications and a results-driven mindset to advance our profession worldwide. 

I hold a Master of Science in Healthcare Information Management/Informatics and all four HSPA certifications, underscoring my dedication to professional development and staying at the forefront of Sterile Processing best practices. Through my leadership roles at organizations such as ProMedica, Cincinnati Children’s Hospital, and Mercy Hospital, I have consistently driven initiatives to enhance Sterile Processing operations’ quality, safety and efficiency across multiple facilities. My published articles, including those in HSPA’s PROCESS magazine, reflect my commitment to sharing knowledge and fostering education within the profession. 

Throughout my career, I have worked closely with allied healthcare partners, including surgeons, perioperative teams, and infection prevention committees, to ensure compliance with AAMI, AORN and Joint Commission standards. My experience with leading system-wide projects, such as the standardization of instrument tracking systems, demonstrates my ability to drive innovation and improve operational consistency across diverse healthcare settings. I passionately advocate for diversity and inclusion; I served as a Diversity Officer, advising senior leadership on advancing Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI) within organizational programs. My dedication to professional development extends to mentoring, coaching and facilitating growth among my teams. 

In alignment with HSPA’s focus on education and certification, I have mentored and trained hundreds of professionals, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and excellence. I have developed robust training programs, conducted mock surveys for regulatory readiness, and provided staff with the tools to achieve certification and career growth. By empowering Sterile Processing teams, I contribute to raising the level of expertise in our profession, directly supporting HSPA’s mission. 

As a certified Project Management Professional (PMP) and Agile Certified Practitioner (ACP), I apply strategic planning, operational excellence, and innovative solutions to address SP-related challenges. My leadership in financial management, team development, and succession planning underscores my dedication to empowering a knowledgeable workforce. As a voting member of the AAMI Sterilization Standards Committee, I am committed to advancing global patient safety. My vision aligns with HSPA’s goal of creating a world where every surgical instrument and procedure is managed with the highest standard of care.
