Tami Heacock Biography

I am deeply committed to advancing the mission of HSPA by supporting Sterile Processing professionals through advocacy, education and the promotion of excellence across all practice settings. As a Board Director, I would bring a strong operational perspective, a collaborative leadership style, and a long-standing dedication to professional engagement at both the chapter and international levels.

My involvement with HSPA has been consistent and service-oriented. I have spoken at four HSPA chapter meetings and education days and have presented four times at the HSPA Annual Conference, sharing practical insights focused on leadership, operations and quality outcomes in Sterile Processing. I have also volunteered at multiple HSPA conferences and served as a moderator for open-table discussions, helping facilitate meaningful dialogue among frontline professionals, leaders and industry partners. These experiences have strengthened my appreciation for the diverse challenges faced across departments and reinforced the importance of inclusive, member-driven solutions.

In addition to educational and conference involvement, I have served HSPA through governance and professional development efforts. I am currently a member of the Bylaws Committee and have previously served as both Chair and Co-Chair of the Nominating Committee, experiences that provided valuable insight into organizational structure, succession planning, and responsible stewardship of the association. I have also contributed as a subject matter expert in exam development and participated in multiple HSPA podcasts, supporting the advancement of professional standards and certification integrity.

Professionally, I serve in a senior leadership role overseeing sterile processing operations within a large healthcare system. This experience allows me to bring a systems-level view of workforce development, regulatory readiness, financial stewardship, and cross-department collaboration. As a Board Director, I would focus on strengthening engagement with both frontline teams and leaders, supporting educational innovation, and ensuring HSPA remains responsive to the evolving needs of the profession while staying grounded in its core mission and values.
